Grammy-nominated gospel queen Vickie Winans will be featured in the next installment in the fifth anniversary season of Free Gospel Sundays which takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall in the the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami.
The series is being sponsored by the Arsht Center and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, in partnership with gospel radio station WMBM 1490 AM.
The series is hosted by WPLG-Channel 10 ABC anchor Calvin Hughes and each features the soulful sounds of the new Miami Mass Choir, the resident choir for this Free Gospel Sundays season.
Space for the Winans concert is taken but a stand-by-line forms at 3 p.m. outside the theater and those waiting will be let in at 3:45 p.m. if seats are available.
“Free Gospel Sundays represents the very heart of our mission and vision coming to life – an afternoon of uplifting music that brings the entire South Florida community together to move and be moved,” said M. John Richard, president and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center.
“Since the inception of this series, more than 10,000 patrons have been part of this joyful experience and we are honored to have Knight Foundation’s support as we continue the tradition, combining gospel’s greatest stars with Miami’s finest voices to inspire us all.”
