art-basel_web.jpgCatherine A. Minnis, CEO of the Minnis Group, admires some of the more than 60 works by Haitian artist Philippe Dodard during the opening reception Tuesday at the ArtsPark Ansin Family Gallery  of the Miramar Cultural Center, 2400 Civic Center Place on Red Road in Miramar.

Dodard, who was born in Port-au-Prince, is a celebrated painter, graphic artist and illustrator whose works have been exhibited throughout the Americas and Europe, including large pieces of sculpture, ironworks and jewelry designs, as well as paintings.

The showing, which is free and open to the public, runs through Jan. 25.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
