dance_web.jpgMIAMI — Florida A&M University’s FAMU Strikers & Mahogany Dance Troupe delighted spectators with a visual treat when members performed Saturday at the The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater in downtown Miami’s historic Overtown community.

The one night only recital was part of the company’s traveling anniversary performance, Living Legends, Celebrating 25 Years of Dance.
It was sponsored by the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency and Miami-Dade County.

The FAMU Strikers and Mahogany Dance Troupes seek “to unite and uplift African-American students, while promoting self-confidence and a positive image through dance and comedy routines,” according to a publicity statement.
