The event was sponsored by the Miami-Dade Parks Department in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and was dedicated to community service at the African Heritage Cultural Center, 6161 NW 22nd Ave.

Volunteers from AARP and Florida International University joined to help in planting new landscape and new grass at the entrance and painting outdoor benches and indoor spaces.
