DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Quentin Williams threw for 207 yards and ran for 100 to lead Bethune-Cookman past Savannah State 42-12 to hand the Tigers their 24th straight loss on Saturday.
The Wildcats (3-1, 1-0 MEAC) took the lead for good when Williams threw a 13-yard score to Jaime Wilson to make it 7-3. The score went to 21-3 at half when Anthony Jordan ran for an 11-yard score and Larry Brihm completed a 56 yarder to Jawill Davis who finished with three receptions for 77 yards.
Williams and Brihm were a combined 13-for-27 for 303 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
Arshon Spaulding threw for 102 yards for the Tigers and Richard Williams II had 15 carries for 79 yards. The Tigers’ lone touchdown occurred when Leonardo Myers picked off Brihm and returned it to score.
It was Bethune-Cookman’s 16th consecutive win against the Tigers (0-3, 0-1) dating to 1992.
