KEY WEST, Fla. – It’s mango season and the Key West Police Athletic League (PAL) is celebrating with Mango Fest 2017 on Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bayview Park, 1320 Truman Ave. in Key West.
This inaugural event features all things mango including: culinary competitions, mango tastings, mango daiquiris, mango trees and much more. There will be music, bounce houses, raffles, local artisans and a live radio broadcast.
Mango Fest benefits the Key West PAL. PAL’s efforts are designed to get children involved in sports and educational programs. It provides a safe place where kids can go after school and on weekends.
PAL encourages teamwork and strong self-esteem. Members of the Key West Police Department donate their time and efforts to help with an array of programs that include boxing and basketball.
The program also supports computer classes after school and provides entertaining and educational camps during the summer and on holidays.
