FORT LAUDERDALE — ArtServe is getting in the holiday spirit and spreading good cheer this December when it presents the “unWRAPPED” exhibition and holiday specials in the Gallery Gift Shop.

ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, is a destination for holiday shopping where art lovers and gift-givers can choose from an amazing collection of one-of-a-kind creations by South Florida’s top artists. The artworks on display at “unWRAPPED” and in the Gallery Gift Shop are reasonably priced to fit any holiday budget, organizers say. This holiday season art patrons will find original art, holiday ornaments, handcrafted cards and the perfect painting to freshen up your home for the holidays.

ANA MARIA HOYOS - OH LA LAThe “unWRAPPED” exhibit, an annual all-member showcase of styles, mediums and artistic techniques, will be on display from Monday through Jan. 2. The gallery reception and one-night-only gift shop sale is 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11, and will offer holiday entertainment and special holiday treats. The evening will also include an open studio, where the public will get to interact with ArtServe artists in residence as they create new work in their own studios.

A wide array of unique and affordable artworks will be available. Jewelry and beautifully crafted jewelry boxes can be found along with striking wooden salad bowls, glassworks, sculptures, scarves and beautiful ornaments, perfect for your favorite person or even your prized pet.  During the reception, all items will be reduced 20 percent and a free ArtServe t-shirt will be given with every purchase over $100. Free gift-wrapping and gift certificates are also available.

“In keeping with ArtServe’s mission of helping artists turn art into business, this exhibit allows them to use any size and media they desire, which we know art lovers will appreciate,” said Jaye Abbate, President and CEO of ArtServe. “In addition to the Gallery Gift Shop, all artwork on display is for sale and reasonably priced for gifts or if you’re looking to add a bit of flare to your own home in time for holiday entertaining.”

Also included during “unWRAPPED” is a special exhibit called, “Ribbons for the Children,” which features art made by local children dealing with HIV/AIDS. Proceeds from the sales of this exhibit will support the Children’s Diagnostic Treatment Center, which is a not-for-profit organization that serves more than 11,000 children with special health care needs in Broward County.
