JUPITER – The Annual Seminole Maroon Remembrance, held in Jupiter over the Dr. Martin Luther King federal holiday weekend, featured Dr. Anthony Dixon, author of “Florida’s Negro War,” and other noted authorities on the “Negro Fort” at Prospect Bluff in North Florida. The nonprofit Florida Black Historical Research Project, Inc. organizes the educational and spiritual commemoration of Florida’s Seminole Maroon history.
