Fresh from appearing on stage with Prince and sitting for an interview in Vogue, Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby and her city councilman husband are “ringmasters” this week in Baltimore’s “UniverSoul” Circus.

Guess what the circus theme is: “Your Life Matters.”

What a joke!

• Tell “Your Life Matters” to the families of the over 40 people killed and 100 injured just in the month of May not to speak of the 32 shot and nine killed over the Memorial Day weekend.

• Tell the families of 31-year-old Jennifer Jeffrey and her 7-year-old son Kester “Tony” Browne who were found dead, both shot in the head, that “Their Lives Mattered.”

• Tell the mother of 3-year-old McKenzie Elliott who was killed a year ago by a stray bullet that “His Life Mattered.”

It is so bad in “Bloody Baltimore” that some residents have barricaded their doors and added metal slabs inside windows to deflect gunfire. People are afraid to let their kids outside and many wake up with shots going through their windows. This sounds like Iraq or Afghanistan — not an American city in 2015!

In the midst of this carnage and fear, prosecutor Mosby and her husband, who represents many of the neighborhoods ravaged by violence, casually star in a circus. It’s too bad little Kester and his mother — and the other murder victims — won’t be able to attend.

Baltimore is not alone in this black urban carnage. In Obama’s Chicago, with shootings exceeding 900 since January and 2,000 in 2014, 12 were killed and over 40 wounded during Memorial Day weekend. In 2014 in Miami, there were over 113 shootings including 30 homicides.

Most of the victims and perpetrators were black. Instead of cutting off heads or crucifying their black victims, these ISIS-like urban terrorists use guns to kill adults, teens, and children.

Do we see the same outrage and demand for accountability and hear the “Black Lives Matter” chorus over the above mostly black-on-black slaughter as we do when a black is killed by a white policeman?

No!

Would mayors, police chiefs, and black and white politicians tolerate 900 shootings of whites by blacks in Chicago’s central business district, the “Loop”; random gangland shootings in Miami’s South Beach or New York’s Times Square or Park Avenue?

Would such violence be met with silence by black and white liberal Democratic leaders?

No!

But it’s different with blacks.

The silence of and lack of condemnation of this urban genocide by the Revs. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, most black and white liberal Democratic leaders, and media pundits is deafening!

The bloodshed is either invisible or non-existent in their privileged worlds.

Maybe that’s why former Baltimore Mayor and Maryland Gov. Michael O’Malley made no reference to the ongoing violence and despair in his own city just blocks from where he made his presidential campaign announcement — in front of a mostly white crowd of supporters.

Need we wonder why?

The answer is simple — it is mostly blacks killing blacks.

In Baltimore, Chicago, Miami, and other cities, there is an eerie silence from the very blacks and their leaders whose communities are war zones. The message: “Black lives matter — if taken by whites!”

There is no outrage as we have when blacks are killed by white police.

• No marches with shouts of “stop the killing.”

• No slogans on T-shirts of black athletes like LeBron James saying “no more bloodshed.”

• No demands for black and white officials in these Democratic strongholds to “protect our neighborhoods and our children.”

If black leaders and clergy are not outraged and don’t demand action, you can be sure that whites won’t either — until the violence touches them. You can bet things would change fast if stray bullets killed a white resident or tourist in any of the above mentioned cities — all hell would break loose.

Black and white Democratic leaders would rush to condemn the violence and Obama might even offer assistance from the Department of Justice to bring the perpetrators to justice.

There has been no such offer to fight the gangland terror in our cities which has claimed thousands of black lives.

But who cares?

It’s time for blacks to demand accountability from black and white Democratic officials and say: “Enough is enough. Protect our children and our neighborhoods — the killing must stop!

The Daily Beast reports that when protesters at the O’Malley rally shouted that they wanted to prevent the next murder of a young black man by a police officer, an O’Malley supporter was heard saying: “Tell them to stop killing each other.”

He is right!
