RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – Josephine Taylor-Allen, age 81, of Riviera Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 26, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center following an extended illness, the Timothy E. Kitchens Funeral Home reported.

Taylor-Allen was a retired educator with the Palm Beach County School District, also mother of South Florida Times freelance writer Daphne Taylor. She leaves her two sons, Dwayne L (Debbie) Taylor of Boynton Beach, and Demond L. (Shay) Allen of Riviera Beach; three daughters, Daphne L. Taylor of Riviera Beach, Donique L. (Anderson) Lorick of Atlanta, Ga., and Danya L (Charles) Boyd of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, J. Jerome Taylor of Riviera Beach, Kevin E. Taylor of Tallahassee, and Keith A. Alfred-Taylor of West Palm Beach; two sisters, Mary Taylor-Toney and Gloria TaylorCarter of West Palm Beach; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.

Homegoing Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at noon at Payne Chapel A.M.E Church, 801 9th St., West Palm Beach, with the Rev. Odell Watson, pastor. The CIB’s dedication will commence at 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. and a public viewing thereafter at the church mentioned above.

The family would appreciate sending plants rather than flowers.
