FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following the receipt of a $3,187,500 Florida Job Growth Grant for Workforce Training, Broward College, Urban League of Broward, CareerSource Broward and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance hosted Cissy Proctor, executive director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, at the Broward College Emil Buehler Aviation Institute.

Proctor toured the facility, spoke with staff and learned how the grant, which aims to train 1,500 and create 1,275 local jobs, will be implemented. A priority of the grant is to create and fill local jobs in the aviation, advanced manufacturing and information technology industries through engagement with the South Florida business community.
