Miami, Fla. – Just in time for Art Week, the Arsht Center and Kindred Arts will bring Hank Willis Thomas’ iconic “All Power to All People” to the Arsht Center’s outdoor Thomson Plaza and in neighboring historic Overtown. Following the Dec. 3 Community Cookout and Unveiling at Overtown and party on the Thompson Plaza at the Arsht Center, a 25-foot version of “All Power to All People” is on display in Overtown, while the original 8-foot sculpture is installed less than one mile away at Thompson Plaza. By providing opportunities to witness the meaningful sculptures in one of Miami’s oldest communities, Overtown, which has a rich history as a center of African-American cultural life dating back to the 1940s, the Arsht is modeling partnerships for bringing local communities together through engaging conversations around the arts and social justice.
