Star chef Marcus Samuelsson makes a stop in Dadeland Mall in Miami to unveil his new line of cookware “Marcus Samuelsson American Table for Belgique,” and sign his book, Yes, Chef.
The acclaimed chef is expected to give a cooking demonstration, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Macy’s Dadeland Mall’s Home Department, Culinary Kitchen, Level 2, 7303 SW 88th St., Miami.
Born in Ethiopia, raised in Sweden, trained in Switzerland, and apprenticed in France and the United States, Samuelson brings a world view to cooking and food. He arrived in America in 1994, and rose his way to culinary stardom. He is owner of the Red Rooster Harlem, and his restaurant is credited for enhancing the Harlem Renaissance. He says his grandmother, Helga, opened his window into the world of food.
He entered America’s home as a contestant on Top Chef Masters on Bravo TV, competing for UNICEF. Samuelsson is an avid soccer player, a mentor on ABC’s The Taste and is a member of the Macy’s Culinary Council, which helps consumers cook and shop like chefs.
Samuelsson’s demo is free and open to the public but reservations are required as space is limited. To save your spot visit: MarcusSamuelssonMacysDadeland.eventbrite.com
