rev-sharpton_cc_fc.jpgWEST PALM BEACH, FLA. — As a way to expand its ministry, Grace Baptist Church of St. Lucie will host the 2014 Gospel Benefit, featuring keynote speaker Rev. Al Sharpton and International Gospel recording artist, Dottie Peoples.

The gospel benefit, from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts’ Cohen Pavilion, includes a full dinner buffet.  Tickets are $75 for Premier Seating and $150 for a VIP Meet & Greet with Sharpton.

dottie_straight_cc_fc.jpgThe benefit, which is open to the public, is part of Grace Baptist Church’s capital campaign.  Funds raised will assist with the growth of its ministries by supporting programs, which include a youth center providing various after school/summer activities, tutoring and mentoring for the children of the Treasure Coast; a food pantry that will feed those in need; and The Family Life Center, which will serve as a haven for social justice needs, assist the elderly, and offer computer, literacy and job training skills to those struggling to find employment, organizers said in a statement.

Grace Baptist Church began humbly in Mount Vernon, New York in 1888, and has since grown into more than 100 ministries serving the Greater New York area.  In 2003, Grace Baptist of St. Lucie became an extension of the ministry on the Treasure Coast of Florida.
