The vice president of business development for the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City (EDCKC) became a finalist for the job.
Ultimately, city commissioners were so impressed with his work in the Midwest that he received sweeping support to lead Miami Beach’s economic future.
Anthony will start his new position in May.

Carpenter said he is a proven leader. “Steven brings a winning track record to Miami Beach not only in economic development but also in banking and finance,” Carpenter said in a statement.
Anthony begins a new chapter in his career on the barrier island which encompasses 15 square miles and is popular for its Art Deco Historic District and the nightlife of South Beach.
