FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – April 4, marks fifty years since the assassination of Martin Luther King and the Roots Collective is partnering with South Florida leaders to commemorate his life and legacy, along with all the black lives lost to violence with what they’re hoping will be the largest funeral procession in South Florida history.

Interested in participating? Meet up – in your car – at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (2650 Sistrunk Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311) at 3:00 PM on April 4.

A procession will travel from the library to the Belafonte Tacolcy Center at 6161 NW 9th Ave. in Liberty City for a special program and commemoration of King’s life and the lives of our people.

Following a brief program, attendees will be invited to join festivities at Athalie Range Park (525 NW 62nd St, Miami, FL 33150) for an evening of food, music and joy. RSVP at bit.ly/DDRollout.
