DAVIE, Fla.- Exposing high school students to actual college experiences improves the likelihood of them choosing to pursue a higher education. To that end, several students, ages 14-17, who are part of a six-week summer program at the Lauderhill YMCA were on the Broward College A. Hugh Adams Central Campus on Monday, July 18 for a two-part career guide tour and panel discussion. The day’s activities included career advice and career mapping guidance based on grade level. Throughout the sessions students were assisted with identifying the requirements for their academic pathways, skills they have in those areas, developing a plan to achieving their goals, identifying mentors, and second career pathway options.
