Miami-Dade School Board member Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (center) is joined by fellow board members, school Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, and the members of the Trayvon Martin Foundation to honor the contributions of Sybrina Fulton, foundation co-founder. Bendross-Mindingall, who represents District Two, recognized Fulton at the board’s July meeting for dedicating her life to transforming the death of her 17-year-old son, Trayvon Martin, into social change.
“I am proud to honor Sybrina Fulton for all that she has done, not only in our community, but around the country,” said Bendross-Mindingall. “Sybrina has dedicated her life to correcting the many wrongs that exist in our judicial, legal, and law enforcement system. We are grateful for the sacrifices she has made and we will continue to support her efforts to achieve social justice in America.”
