FOUR DEATHS
Grandmother Nilda Sheffield of Greenacres shot her daughter Elizabeth Flores, 30, and three grandchildren at a home they shared in the 4600 block of Chariot Circle. Police say Sheffield, 53, then turned the gun on herself. Police are investigating to find a motive, but are not looking for any other suspects.
PARK PROBLEM
Currie Park in West Palm Beach is a favorite place for transient and homeless people to sleep, congregate and rest. City officials may be about to uproot them from the popular park. Like other municipalities, officials want them gone. Expect a flurry of complaints over any attempts to flush them from this park.
Broward County
MURDER
Reginald Kindle, 52, of Fort Lauderdale called police to report he had shot his girlfriend. It happened at the Rashelle Hotel located at 825 NW 27th Ave. of Fort Lauderdale. Deputies said they apprehended Kindle near the hotel. He told police the two argued and it escalated into the shooting.
Tullian Tchividjian, pastor of the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, resigned after admitting he had an extramarital affair. Tchividjian is the grandson of Rev. Billy Graham, and this week he announced the closing of Liberate Ministry, which he founded at the church.
Recording artist T-Dogg will receive the key to city from Pompano Beach officials. The presentation will take place 3 p.m. Aug. 2 at Annie Adderley Park, 601 MLK Blvd. in Pompano. T-Dogg is a native of Deerfield Beach and has several gospel and rap hit records.

The Miami Heat declined to offer me a contact, Oh well, that‘s life. The Heat did select Justise Winslow with the 10th pick in the NBA draft. Some experts are comparing Winslow to LeBron James.
Univision dropped billionaire Donald Trump’s Miss Universe pageant over Trump’s insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants. Trump is responding with even more barbs and a social media war has erupted over the controversy. Trump is also running for president of the United States. Go figure.
Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi was involved in a single-car accident and left scene. Damage was caused to a tree, but no charges were filed over the incident. Now, some observers are calling for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate to determine if Pizzi received special treatment.
