MIAMI – As part of its yearlong 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Jessie Trice Community Health Center (JTCHC) will host a Fitness and Nutrition Education Conference on Friday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Florida International University (FIU) North Campus – Kovens Conference Center, located at 3000 NE 151 Street in North Miami.

“This conference will bring awareness to the importance of proper nutrition and regular physical activity for our overall health and well-being,” said Annie Neasman, President and CEO of JTCHC. “We are committed to providing vital education and resources to help people of all ages live longer, healthier lives.”

The conference will include a general session, breakout sessions and a light lunch. In addition, there will be vendors on hand to share healthy news, services and important information to the conference attendees.

Chef Richard Ingraham – the personal chef of NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade – will be a featured conference guest. The emcee for the conference is Cedric McMinn – Chief of Staff for District 2 Miami-Dade County School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall.

Other noted guests include Miami-Dade District 1 School Board Member Dr. Steve Gallon, and persons in leadership from JTCHC and FIU.

JTCHC has been serving Miami-Dade County since 1967. It owns and/or operates 54 facilities, including 11 Comprehensive Primary Care centers and a women’s substance use residential program, 40 schoolbased locations and two university centers that serve a diverse population of over 47,000 patients who make more than 187,000 visits annually.
