MIAMI – School resumes on Aug. 22 in Miami-Dade County. To help local families prepare, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson is hosting the 10th annual District 3 Back to School Fun Day/Health and Info Fair on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Olinda Park, 2101 NW 51st St. in Miami.

Free book bags and school supplies will be provided to children from pre-K to age 18 on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be music, refreshments, bounce houses and other activities for children.

The Health and Info Fair will feature free eye exams provided by Miami Lighthouse, free health screenings and information, voter registration, job assistance by Career Resource, the Miami-Dade Library book mobile, information on Head Start, County services and other service organizations and a free food distribution by Farm Share.
