Munger says US health care system is too expensive, complex

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Berkshire Hathaway’s Vice Chairman Charlie Munger says the American health care system remains too complicated and expensive.

Munger, who leads Good Samaritan Hospital’s board in Los Angeles, discussed the problems facing health care during an interview Monday on CNBC.

Munger says he things the nation’s health care system does a poor job of managing end of life care. He says he is “ashamed of the way our health care system prolongs death to make money.”

Munger and billionaire Warren Buffett spent most of Saturday answering questions at Berkshire’s annual shareholder meeting. More than 40,000 people attended the event.
