ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota’s health insurance exchange is giving a reprieve to residents who started the enrollment process before Sunday’s open enrollment deadline but couldn’t complete the process.
MNsure says anyone who’s “in line” will have until 5 p.m. Friday to finish the process. MN’s definition of those “in line” includes people who created an account, and those who filled out or submitted applications but didn’t complete the enrollment process by Sunday.
The exchange was closed for the holiday Monday, so the special enrollment period begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Eligible consumers need to call the MNsure Contact Center to complete the process.
MNsure spokesman Joe Campbell tells the Star Tribune some people had trouble enrolling over the weekend because of problems with a federal data hub that verifies income and identity information.
