BOCA RATON, Fla. – The nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs takes place on Oct. 28 at 8:30 a.m. in Mizner Park in Boca Raton. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s calls on participants of all ages to get involved in the effort to learn about the disease and how they can become a part of the efforts to eradicate it.
A local financial services firm is participating as a team. The HighTower Boca Raton team is aiming to raise $2,000.00. Last year the team raised nearly $3,000.
“We at HighTower Boca Raton are proud to once again support Walk to EndAlzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association 2018. The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting critically need research,” said Christopher T. Ure, CEO of HighTower Boca Raton, which is comprised of financial services professionals.
“We are aware of the dramatic impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals, families, and companies, so we are committed to support the Alzheimer’s Association.”
In addition to the two-mile walk, participants will learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to get involved with advocacy opportunities, clinical studies and support programs and services.
Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixthleading cause of death. In the United States alone, more than five million people are living with the disease.
