YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) _ A health official in Youngstown is advising against eating fish from three lakes in Mill Creek Park since a sewer overflow caused a large fish kill in the largest lake.

A sanitary sewer overflow from the city’s system during recent heavy rains depleted the dissolved oxygen in the water, which is essential to fish survival. It led to a large fish kill in Lake Newport.

The Vindicator (http://bit.ly/1HHRVIO ) reports that city health commissioner Erin Bishop on Monday urged anglers not to eat any live fish they catch in Newport, Cohasset or Glacier lakes, or in Mill Creek downstream, at least until the dead fish are removed.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are investigating the fish kill.
