South Florida students will celebrate their individuality at the inaugural #BeYou Back to School Jam presented by Tune Vox Entertainment and Heavy Legacy Foundation.

The concert will take place Saturday at the War Memorial Auditorium, 800 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale, where students will be empowered to have a strong self-identity through the event’s tagline #BeYou.

“We want to give the students the positive reinforcement they usually don’t receive during the school year,” says Nicola Charles, CEO of Tune Vox Entertainment.

Tune Vox Entertainment is a Georgia-based entertainment company that offers a wide range of services in marketing, artist development, management, touring, and publishing. The company strives to bring its services to the Back to School Jam while fostering a fun and positive environment to its attendees.

“Students should be self assured and accepting of who they are once they get in to school,” says Charles.

In its first year, the Back to School Jam has a lineup of artists including Chedda Da Connect, Jordan Grizzle, Brianna Perry, Wash, JRand, Teenear, Aaron Salem, LaLah, and 4th and Ocean. The Hip Hop Dance Kids are also expected to perform. Slip n’ Slide’s newest artist, Teenear is especially excited about her performance at the event.

“I love the message behind the whole show,” says Miami native singer Teenear. It’s important to be yourself throughout school and throughout life. Don’t get caught up in what others are doing. Focus on yourself and in the end you’ll be happy.”

Besides hosting a fun concert, Tune Vox Entertainment in partnership with Heavy Legacy Foundation will provide students with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. The organizations will donate 50 backpacks to Fore Life Inc., a non-profit organization that strives to empower youth through golf. The organizations are collecting school supply donations until Friday.

“All ages are welcomed but we really encourage students entering high school and college to attend,” says Charles. “Those students are entering new journeys in their lives that they may not be prepared for.”

The event will run from 5-11 pm, starting with a meet-and-greet with the performers, the concert and lastly the school supply giveaway. The Back to School Jam is sponsored by CitiTrends, GM Print Hope, Heavy Graphics Marketing Inc, Metro PCS, South Florida Times, and CBS Miami. Tickets for the Back to School Jam can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.

“Combining the #BeYou campaign with the party component, we’ll be able to encourage the kids to forge a self-identity in a fun setting,” says Charles.
