Last Friday, 75 volunteers from St. Thomas University, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and Diplomas Now were deployed to Carol City Middle School to facilitate and conduct a one-on-one report card conference with students and assess their academic progress.

Report card conferences conducted by mentoring volunteers inspire students to stay on track with their studies. By mentoring students individually and reviewing their academic progress, volunteers are providing needed support and direction based on the students’ conduct, effort, and academic grades. The information gathered at these conferences will be provided to the school’s administrative and teaching personnel for guidance and support during the school year.

Thirty-five Honor Roll students at the conference were presented book bags containing headphones and other supplies. All participating students received Certificates of Completion.
