INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Ivy Tech Community College says it’s freezing tuition for full-time students and for part-time students that don’t take semesters off.
The Indianapolis Business Journal Reports (http://bit.ly/1JEff9h ) Ivy Tech wants to keep more students continuously enrolled because enrollment has fallen 25 percent over the past three years and students who stay enrolled are more likely to finish their studies. Fewer than 30 percent of Ivy Tech students complete a certificate or associate’s degree program in six years.
Indiana lawmakers didn’t approve funding for Ivy Tech building projects this year over concerns about its declining enrollment and low completion rates.
To qualify for the tuition freeze, part-time students must take at least six credits hours in the fall and spring semesters and at least three hours in the summer semester.
