It’s that time of year again when parents, students and educators are preparing to go back to school for the 2017-2018 school year.

Whether K-12 or post-secondary, all families could benefit from some tips on how to start the year full STEAM ahead.

Recently, our varying school districts experienced tremendous successes. For the first time ever MiamiDade County Public Schools did not have any F-rated schools. Ninety-six percent of Broward County Public Schools received A, B or C grades and Palm Beach County Schools maintained an overall B rating according to data received from the Florida Department of Education.

In an effort to help ensure South Florida’s students continue to excel in their educational endeavors, we’ve invoked the assistance of some of South Florida’s most vested educators, including the superintendents from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties and the vice president of student affairs at Florida Memorial University.

They’ve provided information to help students succeed this year, as well as which STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) initiatives, and other resources, they have available.

We also have some tips on how parents can support their children during the upcoming school year.

Take note because as Horace Mann said, education is the great equalizer – and we’re rooting for all of South Florida’s children and families to take advantage of all of its benefits.
