MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) _ The Vermont state treasurer’s office will be testing high school teams on their financial literacy.

Four-person teams from around the state will be competing against each other in a quiz-show style contest on Friday, May 8, at the Pavilion Building in Montpelier.

The treasurer’s office says the aim of the competition is to promote student interest in and knowledge of personal finance, economics and consumer affairs topics.

The championship round is planned for 3 p.m.

Prizes include $500 college savings accounts for each member of the winning team and $250 college savings accounts for each on the 2nd place team.
