DAVIE — Athornia Steele, dean of Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center has been tapped as the next chairman of the national Law School Admission Council. Steele was named chairman-elect at the group’s annual meeting and Educational Conference held May 30-June 2 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Steele, a former member of the faculty of Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, became the dean of NSU’s Law Center in 2008.
He has been active in the council since 1997, according to an NSU statement, serving three terms on the board of trustees and as a member of its Minority Affairs Committee which he chaired in 2005-07), and on other committees.
The Pennsylvania-based council was founded in 1947 to create and administer the law school admission test (LSAT).
