Pembroke Park, Fla. – In scenes being repeated throughout South Florida, dozens volunteered as Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) partnered with the 100 Black Men of South Florida for their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Those gathered at the Feeding South Florida facility in Pembroke Park on Nov. 16 assembled meal kits that included a turkey, canned goods and other items ideal for a Thanksgiving dinner. The collaborative effort among

community partners included Publix and American Airlines. In addition, UPS partnered and delivered the boxes to convenient locations in underserved communities for pickup by those in need.

“We’re honored to partner with 100 Black Men of South Florida and so many others to ensure everyone has a healthy, happy Thanksgiving meal,” said Armando Fernandez, director of External Affairs for Miami-Dade County for FPL. The 2024 goal is to pack and deliver more than 2,500 traditional Thanksgiving meals to individuals who need them most.
