WEST PALM BEACH — Students all over Palm Beach County are putting the finishing touches on their projects for the upcoming 55th annual Palm Beach Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

Individual school fairs are being held and regional selections are being made in anticipation of the largest academic event held in Palm Beach County each year.

“The Palm Beach Regional Science and Engineering Fair is a wonderful showcase of the scientific work done by our county’s dedicated young scientists,” said Greg Goebel, Secondary Science program planner.

The fair will take place Dec. 5-7 at the South Florida Fairgrounds, Expo Center West, 9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach.

Students will register and display their projects and bridges from 3 to 6 p.m.  Monday, Dec. 5. Registration is open to students, teachers and parents.

The exhibit hall will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6.  The Palm Beach Regional Bridge Challenge will also be held on that day, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Project judging will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 7, and admission then will be restricted to student participants, coordinators and judges.

Visitors to the fair should enter the fairgrounds at Gate 12. Parking and admission into Expo Center West to view the projects and the bridge competition are free of cost.
