As BlakPac’s staff mourns his passing, we remember George Farrell, our founder, with love and gratitude for the indelible mark he left on our lives. He will always be in our hearts as an example of virtue and humanity.
May George rest in peace, knowing that his love will last in our hearts forever.
Our community and nation lost a great leader with the death of George T. Farrell III on Sept. 24, 2024.
George, 62, son of Isabella and George D. Farrell II, was born and raised in Washington DC, where he received his early studies and subsequent college degree in Finance from Howard University.
A talented business leader, author, and public servant, George cared deeply about his family, his community, his state and his nation and dedicated his Life to making a positive difference in the lives of others. From his service as a young police officer in Washington DC, his successful leadership as owner and CEO of a major Investment firm, and with his meaningful involvement in government and community development, George made a difference.
His business and political skills and insights resulted in local and national recognition of his many contributions on the federal level and in the state of Florida.
Among his many awards: Tampa Bay Heritage Award; Superstar Award from the National Minority Women’s Economic Development Loan Fund; National Outback Superstar Award from the Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast; two Congressional Recognitions of GOTV.
Along with his wife, Sandra Lopez, George created BLAKPAC.gop, a National Super Pac to encourage minority participation in conservative politics.
An author, George Farrell wrote and published “Angry Black Man Guide to Success and then Success is Colorblind.”
George is survived by his wife, Sandra Lopez, children George Farrell IV, Isabella Farrell, Tasha Farrell, Diaz Farrell.
The loss of George Farrell will leave a big gap in our community and nation as well as in our hearts. He will be sorely missed.
At this difficult time, the Farrell family appreciates the support and condolences of friends and loved ones.
We will celebrate George’s life with gratitude for the time we shared together and with the hope that his legacy continues to inspire us to be better human beings.
