Miami, Fla. – Unlike the coronavirus and its offspring which also continue to have their skeptics, the global cryptocurrency phenomenon and its latest variant, non-fungible tokens or NFTs, shows no sign of waning.
The latest evidence came in the inaugural Miami NFT Week, which drew hundreds to the Mana Wynwood Convention Center this past weekend for panel discussions, workshops, networking and more.
The heavyweight pioneers and other attendees ranged from Sayid Muhammad, an 18-year-old coder from Homestead with his own Web3 startup, to Kenasha Paul, founder of Black Professional’s Network, to Ariana the Techie, to billionaire investor, Dallas Mavericks owner and crypto evangelist Mark Cuban, to co-founder and Slip-N-Slide Records founder/CEO and Miami native Ted Lucas.
Like other locations worldwide from Silicon Valley to Dubai, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who dubbed April as Miami Tech Month, is leveraging his city’s national spotlight on the global tech stage to take the lead in the emerging technology by bringing together a diverse community of creators and developers.
Miami NFT Week was first in the monthlong tech calendar lineup.
Next up: Bitcoin 2022 at the Miami Beach Convention Center through April 9. (See story on Page 6A.)
