More than 100 guests turned out for a gathering of real estate professionals at the Miramar Park of Commerce at the “Turn Up the Heat” reception, part of the recent NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association South Florida Bus Tour.
Art students from Miramar High School donated their time to decorate the chalkboards with Miami Heat-inspired artwork that transformed 5,400 square feet of open space in the commercial park into a basketball-themed café.
Burnie, the Miami Heat mascot, escorted guests into the room filled with Heat posters, flat screen televisions highlighting the team’s championship season and artwork from the students.
High-top tables were clothed in Heat colors of black and red and adorned with buckets filled with shelled peanuts.
Guests also enjoyed gourmet food, an outdoor basketball competition and drawings for raffle prizes.
“We really appreciate the efforts of the students in decorating the chalkboards,” said Maridee Bell, vice president of Sunbeam Properties, developer of Miramar Park of Commerce. “They added a personal, creative perspective to our themed event.”
The NAIOP South Florida Bus Tour is the premier bus tour covering the middle of the tri-county area. This year’s tour took in Miramar, Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Weston and Hollywood and focused on the office market with information on vacancy rates by class, sales analysis by size, volume and price, industrial market statistics, historical deliveries, office and industrial projects, new construction, site plan approved projects and major blocks of new or recent space with contiguous square feet of 50 feet and up.
