Staff Report

Book lovers, art lovers, foodies and shopaholics are invited to an event to satisfy their various desires while raising money for Haiti as the impoverished country recovers from Hurricane Matthew’s devastating impact that left more than 1000 people dead.

“Books, Bites & Bazaar” presents award winning author Edwidge Danticat to discuss her popular book Breath, Eyes, Memory, an “Oprah’s Book Club Selection,” and a story rich in culture, strength, mysticism and history. Bring your book, have it signed and take a selfie with the author. A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will go to Gaskov Clerve Foundation, for relief efforts in Haiti.

Shopaholics are also encouraged to begin their holiday shopping early while supporting local businesses. The event will include pop up shops from over 15 vendors and artists with merchandise including handmade bath bombs, henna, eclectic accessories, dream catchers, wooden watches and more… Foodies are encouraged to come with an empty stomach as there will be plenty of macaroons, vegan bites, gourmet puddings, home- made kibbehs, Haitian delicacies and more to sample and take home.

Amazing local artists like Nia Devine and Yella Soul will perform live prior to and after the book discussion.

Admission is $10 and includes free bites and a raffle ticket to win goodie bags from vendors.
