MIAMI, Fla. — Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center will host a free food distribution event on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m.    The event is presented by MDC’s North Campus in partnership with State Senator Dwight Bullard, School Board Member Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, and Farm Share. More than 100 volunteers, including MDC students, will participate to help sort and distribute free food packages that include an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables. Farm Share provides an abundance of surplus food and distributes it to individuals, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, churches, and other organizations feeding the needy in Florida – free of charge.  Interested individuals should arrive early at the center, 6300 NW 7th Ave., because the distribution will be on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.   For more information, call 305-237-1141.
