MIAMI — South Florida’s longest-running Memorial Weekend concert, Best Of The Best Festival, returns to Bayfront Park featuring a smorgasbord of reggae, dancehall and soca giants.

Gates open at 2 p.m. Sunday at the park, 301 Biscayne Blvd. The festival goes until 10 p.m.

The show, which organizers bill as 100 percent Caribbean, is in its ninth year. The lineup for 2015 includes Shabba Ranks, Josey Wales, Capleton, Beenie Man, Lady Saw aka Marion Hall, Sanchez and Wayne Wonder, plus Tiger, Morgan Heritage, Admiral Bailey, Spice, Johnny P., Anthony Malvo and Warrior King.

Also, the star-studded soca lineup includes Fay Ann Lyons, Kerwin DuBois, Lyrikal and Rupee.

This year, the festival has teamed with VP Records to present A Reggae Music Journey, a traveling exhibit bridging Jamaica’s musical history and reggae culture. The exhibit features the archives of VP Records, the world’s largest reggae company.

Curated by illustrator Michael Thompson, creator of many of the images that line the exhibit, this multi-media experience presents iconic imagery of the contributors who developed the music.

Visitors will enjoy a variety of iconic photographs of reggae artists taken by some of the masters of the art including; Peter Simon, Marlon Ajamu Myrie, Roy Sweetland and others. The exhibit also includes video chronicling high points in the history of the music.
