kwanzaa_web.jpgNow that the mad rush of shopping for Christmas is over, and before the New Year’s feast, you should be prepared to celebrate Kwanzaa, which starts on Saturday, Dec. 26.

Relax. Kwanzaa, a seven-day cultural holiday, is celebrated not as much by giving as by reflecting. Each day focuses on one of seven principles: Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), and Imani (faith).
