On Saturday, June 28, the City of Miramar and the Broward Affordable Housing Task Force host a free Home Buyer Expo at Miramar City Hall, 2300 Civic Center Place, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Broward Affordable Housing Task Force, established in 1990, is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes the development and preservation of quality affordable housing in Broward County. The Task Force members include governmental agencies such as Broward County Housing Authority, City of Tamarac and others; lenders such as Sun Trust, Chase, Fifth Third Bank, BankUnited and others; nonprofit affordable housing agencies like Housing Foundation of America, Oasis CDC, Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida, Mortgage Grants.Com and for-profit organizations and entrepreneurs.

The purpose of the Task Force is to promote and support programs which foster the development, financing and marketing of affordable housing for low and moderate-income homebuyers. It advances programs that encourage community development and produce opportunities for homeownership, foreclosure education and employment.
