NEBO, Ky. (AP) _ The leader of a predominantly white church in Nebo has canceled Sunday's service so the congregation can attend services at a nearby church where most members are black.
Nebo Christian Church Pastor Ted Morelock said he was inspired to take the action after reading an article in the Christian Standard that urged church leaders to be proactive in moving toward racial diversity.
Morelock told Madisonville's The Messenger, “(Americans) say we're not prejudiced, but what do we really do about it?''
He said he wants to show that Christians can worship together and that God sees no difference between people.
Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Walter Ellis said he could not be happier about the visit and plans to have his own congregation attend services at Nebo Christian one day soon.
