Since last year’s grand opening and dedication of the facility, the league, whose CEO is Germaine Smith-Baugh, has continued to offer its array of education, employment, health and children’s programs and services at the Community Empowerment Center.

Officials also note that the National Urban League’s annual conference is set for Greater Fort Lauderdale for the first time in July, 2015, at a time when Broward County plans to mark a century of racial and economic change when the county turns 100.

The date also will mark the kickoff of the Summer Enrichment Program.
