The United Ghanaians Association of South Florida celebrated the Independence Anniversary of their homeland Saturday at the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach with an evening of culture, friendship and education.
The event featured a Royal African procession of chiefs and queen mothers, Ghanaian cuisine, cultural performances and music from Ghana and other African countries. Association president Edmund Abaka looks on. At right, Lovicia Meyler of Miami Gardens is joined in a traditional dance by Emmanuel Korle, the group’s vice president.
