"Sergeant Suspended Over Deputy's Prostitution Arrest" By ELGIN JONES EJones@SFLTimes.comPOMPANO BEACH- An off-duty Broward Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested in a prostitution sting that was conducted by his own department, in the same city where he is assigned to patrol.
Deputy Christian Benenati, 40, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with soliciting another for lewdness. The arrest and alleged incident occurred in the 1200 block of NW 31st Avenue in Pompano Beach.
As it turns out, the streetwalker he is accused of soliciting was actually an undercover deputy and part of a sting operation.
Benenati was released on $300 bail. His employment status is not presently known.
