With the help of Chef Lenore Nolan-Ryan, each community leader was paired with a child from Kids In Distress. Together they created an entrée and dessert, which they ate for lunch.

During the one-on-one lunch, leaders, who each pledged to sponsor a child for one year at KID camp, shared real life recipes for success in an effort to “sponsor, cook and inspire.”

“Our inaugural Cooking With KIDs was a tremendous success thanks to the support of our local community leaders,” said KID Development Officer Patricia Moskol. “Each leader’s pledged to send one child to KID camp which provides enrichment activities for at-risk children by helping them improve their social skills, physical development, nutritional health, and academic and creative abilities.”

For Cooking With KIDs, Nolan-Ryan provided the community leaders with the ingredients and skills to create an impressive lunch. Owner of a local catering business and cooking school, Nolan-Ryan offers regularly scheduled classes and frequently helps with cooking parties, team building events, and social and corporate gathers.
