Broward Health Community Health Services (CHS) recently honored 44 primary care health providers for unwavering commitment and dedication to serving the uninsured and underinsured.
The honorees were recognized at a Provider Appreciation Day and Recognition Jan. 17 which showcased each of them for going beyond the call of duty in their work.
The Jan. 17 event was part of the observance of National Medical Group Week and focused on healthcare workers in CHS and its network of community- and school-based health centers, home health and hospice operations.
CHS Vice President Jasmin Shirley described it as a time “to show our gratitude and give thanks to a group of providers who play a pivotal role in the delivery of health care services to the community.”
“We value their time and talent invested, as well as their achievement in the field of medicine,” added Dr. John Berges, CHS medical director. “Within our network of community- and school-based health centers, our community has access to quality care, plus value-added primary care practitioners.”
Community Services Coordinator Chico Arenas also called the celebration “a special moment,” adding. “We are very supportive of these providers and excited to celebrate the achievements of those who continue to have such an impact on our community.”
