SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) _ Secretary of State Dianna Duran has placed a staffer on leave for a website posting of what she called "deeply offensive" material about two African-American legislators.

Duran made the announcement Thursday after a liberal-leaning political group said she should resign over what it described as racist jokes in a sample campaign form on the election agency's website.

The form listed "Sheryl Powdrell-Culbertson" as a contributor's last name.

The name appears to refer to Democratic Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton and GOP Rep. Jane Powdrell-Culbert.

The form had "JeffersonDavis" as the contributor's first name, apparently a reference to the Civil War Confederate president.

Duran said she "will not tolerate any form of racism or bigotry."
