Woodroof is the target of a multi-agency child pornography task force. According to sources, after law enforcement officers arrived at his home Wednesday to serve search warrants for his computer and other items, he reportedly became distraught.

As a result, he was transported to an undisclosed facility for evaluation, sources said.

“Broward College officials were contacted yesterday by a law enforcement taskforce conducting an investigation of a College employee. College officials are cooperating fully with the investigators and remain committed to assisting law enforcement agencies in whatever capacity is necessary,” said Aileen Izquierdo, vice president for Public Affairs and Marketing at Broward College.

Woodroof served as a police officer for the Davie Police Department from May 1984 until retiring in May 2004.

"Mr. Woodroof was hired in February 2003 as an operations administrator. He is not a full time instructor, though in the past he has taught an occasional course. He was not teaching this semester," Izquierdo said.

Woodruff works as an operations administrator in the academy's Criminal Justice/Military Science Department. He has been temporarily relieved of duty.

“The employee, Kelly Woodroof, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation,” Izquierdo said.
