“Marilyn is greatly respected in the legal community,” said Gail Meyers, president of PAMM’s board of trustees. “Her professional experience and deep interest in contemporary art of the African Diaspora will be great assets to PAMM as the museum’s programming and role in South Florida’s cultural landscape continues to grow.”

Pérez Art Museum Miami, formerly Miami Art Museum, opened to the public in December 2013 and is focused on collecting and exhibiting modern and contemporary art that represents Miami’s cultural diversity, while providing progressive educational and community programming.

Holifield represents corporate clients in the areas of employment, business litigation, corporate governance, trade secrets, covenants-not-to-compete, class action and intellectual property litigation.

Holifield is the recipient of the Anti-Defamation League’s Jurisprudence Award, the National Bar Association’s Gertrude E. Rush Award, and the Tourism Pioneer Award from the Black Hospitality Initiative of Greater Miami.

She was recently appointed to serve on the federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the Southern District of Florida by Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio.

She also serves on the Board of Managers of Swarthmore College, Board of Trustees of the University of Miami, Executive Committee of the Harvard Alumni Association, and co-chairs the Harvard Alumni Association’s Global Month of Service.
